Governance in The Empire of Medieval Pursuits

 

Governance within the Empire is stylized to provide a medievalist feel for the membership, while still providing for the modern sensibilities of social equality. In other words, if you are a member you still get a say, even if you choose to play at being a peasant.

 

The function of the House of Lords is to veto or pass any law that the Board of Directors or Crown put into place. Each local branch is responsible for the selection of their Lord and is done differently in virtually every branch. Each local branch has one representative with a number of votes that reflects the population of the group.

Each branch is encouraged to structure themselves in whatever unique fashion they might choose. Many places prefer to focus on a specific time or place. Others prefer to focus on specific activities, such as service or fighting. Lords come in a wide variety of styles and types. Some chose to portray tribal chieftains or feudal overlords, while others are sea faring Captains or Mercenaries, and still others prelates or the headmasters of centers of learning.Click here if you would like more local branch info »
